About us

The NummusLab Project was born at the University of Trieste from the collaboration between the University and private individuals (Circolo Numismatico Triestino & Bernardi Numismatica s.r.l.) with the involvement of professors, researchers, PhD students and students from the Department of Humanities and the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

NummusLab proposes itself as a scientific environment in which to share methodologies, ideas and experiences in a holistic dimension projected towards continuous updating and collaboration between different disciplines.

He is a researcher in Numismatics. He mainly deals with classical and oriental numismatics, studying in particular the relationships between Byzantine and Sasanian coinage, also from an economic perspective. He has carried out numerous researches on the history of collecting and the origin of numismatic interest in Byzantine coins in Ravenna. He is currently studying coin finds from ancient Ostia and some archaeological sites in Romagna.

He is a research fellow (ARCH-01/B - Numismatics), Visiting Scholar at the IFS Bern and consultant to the 'J.J. Winckelmann' Museum of Antiquities in Trieste. Her research is mainly concerned with medieval numismatics and monetary circulation in North-Central Italy and Central-Eastern Europe.
