JOIN US at the IOP Workshop: Self-Assembly, Recognition, and Applications (SARA) 2017

JOIN US at the IOP Workshop: Self-Assembly, Recognition, and Applications (SARA) 2017, Univeristy of Lincoln UK, 14 December 2017 (deadline: 21 November 2017 )

We would like to bring to your attention the IOP workshop “SelfAssembly, Recognition, and Applications (SARA) 2017” which will be held on 14 December 2017 at the University of Lincoln (UK).

The ability of molecules to autonomously organise into well-defined nano- and microscale architectures while retaining the ability to recognize other molecules opens exciting opportunities in the production of new functionalised surfaces, nanoparticles, and responsive materials with applications in bioimaging, biosensing diagnostics and targeted drug delivery. The multidisciplinary approach needed for the development of these novel devices calls for events bringing together scientist from traditionally distant areas of science.

This one day workshop seeks gather together theoreticians and experimentalists from Physics to Life Sciences with the aim of exchanging knowledge and building up novel collaborations for synergistically solving real life challenges with selfassembly, molecular recognition, and their applications.

Confirmed speakers:
•    Dr. Helena Azevedo (Queen Mary University of London, UK)
•    Dr. Barbara Ciani (University of Sheffield, UK)
•    Dr. Ario De Marco (University of Nova Goriza, Slovenia)
•    Dr. Isuru Jayasinghe (University of Leeds, UK)
•    Prof Alexei Kornyshev (Imperial College London, UK)
•    Dr. Pietro Parisse (Elettra Synchrotron, Trieste, Italy)
•    Prof. Michael Rappolt (University of Leeds, UK)

Registration is now available via https://www.iopconferences.org/iop/1179/home , and costs 40 GBP for non-IOP members (members pay a reduced fee of 20 GBP). Please register no later than 21 November.

We hope you’ll find this workshop interesting and relevant for your work and we encourage submitting abstracts for contributed talks and/or posters. Please send your abstract to M.Castronovo@leeds.ac.uk with “SARA2017 Abstract Submission” as the subject header and indicate your preference for a talk or a poster in your message. The deadline for abstract submission is 15 November.

We hope to see many of you in Lincoln.

Best regards,

Dr. Sara Fortuna (University of Trieste, Italy)
Dr. Matteo Castronovo (University of Leeds, UK)
Dr. Enrico Ferrari (University of Lincoln, UK)
