Flexibility of maternity leave

The pregnant employees can choose, after the consent of their own physician, to postpone by one month the period of the abstention from the job, prolonging so the return after the fourth post-partum month.

The pregnant woman must give the filled out form for the contract suspension to the office where she has signed the contract (or the acceptance of scholarship), together with:

  • The demand of flexibility of maternity leave
  • The original certificate of pregnancy, which guarantees that the worker can go on working without endangering her own health and those of unborn baby. The certificate is issued by a specialized physician of Italian National Health Service, or by one who is affiliated with the INHS.
