Heavy, dangerous and unhealthy works

The pregnant woman cannot be assigned to the lifting nor the transporting of loads, including also the handling with carts or the unloading of goods.

An uncomplete list (the complete list is in the art. 7 of the Legislative Decree 151/01 and successive amendments and/or additions) of the main heavy, dangerous, unhealthy and forbidden works includes the job that:

• Subjects the worker to high noises or vibrations
• Subjects the worker to dangerous chemical or biological agents
• Exposes the worker to the risk of respiratory diseases
• Involves exposure to ionizing radiations
• Requires to stand for more than a half of their working hours, or, anyway, that forces to take a particularly exhausting position, or the work on ladders

The employer’s duties, deriving from the rules of physical protection, become effective after the presentation of medical certificate of pregnancy.
