Successful applicants will be notified by <strong>Wednesday, 29 October<\/strong>.<br><a href=\"https:\/\/cados.ucp.pt\/news\/applications-open-t4eu-first-time-researchers-academy-11186\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/cados.ucp.pt\/news\/applications-open-t4eu-first-time-researchers-academy-11186\">Find out more<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-background has-link-color wp-elements-1627a515bd45941f830a6b171a4e4e9a\" style=\"color:#fbfaf8;background-color:#254ba1\">Important: the activity carried out at the Academy corresponds to a type 4 activity in the record \u200bbook for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/portale.units.it\/en\/research\/phd\/training-activities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Recognition of credits\u00a0in PhD programmes<\/a>. It can be <strong>recognised for a maximum of 2.5 CFU<\/strong> and will be evaluated by the Doctoral Teaching Body. Please <strong>consult UniTS\u2019s credit attribution rules<\/strong> and <strong>discuss with your supervisor or coordinator<\/strong>, following also the dedicated<strong> <\/strong>T4EU<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.units.it\/transform4europe\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/Linee-guida-riconoscimento-attivita-T4EU-2024_def.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">guidelines<\/a>. <\/strong>Failur<strong>e to comply with these guidelines will preclude credit recognition.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-8cf370e7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p><strong>Eligibility<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Two<\/strong> successful <strong>candidates <\/strong>will be chosen. Eligible PhD candidates at the <strong>University of Trieste<\/strong> must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be&nbsp;in the&nbsp;<strong>2nd or 3rd year of their PhD<\/strong>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<strong>actively enrolled<\/strong>&nbsp;at the University of Trieste.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have a level of English proficiency (speaking, reading, and writing) sufficient to actively engage with all courses and activities, which will be delivered entirely in English. The organisers have indicated a minimum level of B2.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit a motivation statement (max. 2000 characters, in English) explaining:<br>\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Why they wish to participate in the Academy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How the programme would benefit their development&nbsp;<strong>at this specific stage of their doctoral research<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How their academic and professional goals align with the Academy\u2019s focus on research design, academic writing, open science, impact, communication, leadership, and networking.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-8cf370e7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Applications will be assessed on:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Clarity and strength of motivation.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Relevance of the programme<\/strong>&nbsp;to the candidate\u2019s current stage of research.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Potential for professional growth<\/strong>&nbsp;in line with the European Competence Framework for Researchers (interdisciplinarity, international networking, career management, and science communication).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Ability to participate fully in English<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Applications are now open for the First-time Researchers Academy, taking place in Lisbon from 17 to 21 November 2025, with a follow-up online session in January 2026.
