Transform4Europe universities’ academic staff<\/strong>, researchers<\/strong>, and PhD students <\/strong>are invited to attend an Open Lecture titled<\/strong> “Data Protection and Research” by Marten Juurik<\/strong> from the University of Tartu <\/strong>and the Estonian Research Council. The online lecture is scheduled for April 26<\/strong>, from 11:15 to 13:45 CET (MS TEAMS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This lecture will cover the fundamentals<\/strong> of personal data protection<\/strong> regulations, emphasizing issues relevant to research. It will also provide guidance on integrating data protection principles into research<\/strong> design. The target audience includes researchers with minimal or no prior knowledge of data protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marten Juurik<\/strong>, the lecturer, is a junior researcher<\/strong> in ethics<\/strong> at Tartu University. He is one of the authors of Tartu University’s “Guide for Data Protection in Research<\/a>” and has years of experience teaching communication and information ethics, as well as data protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
