TERATERM
the program should be portable: 
  unzip and copy it somewhere
  then launch ttermpro.exe, it should work
  
those who have a Mac may want to try Terminal (installed by default)
  connect the MCU board to the PC (an adapter may be needed)
  launch Terminal
  ls /dev/tty.* shows all the connected device
  screeen usb... 115200 sets the baud rate
